Job Description

We are looking for an experienced bookkeeper with at least 3+ years’ experience in basic accounting procedures, bookkeeping, and financial tasks on a part-time basis for a 12-month maternity cover of our Finance and Operations Director. You’ll be working closely with our Managing Director as well as our accountants both in the UK and the US. About the role

You’ll be overseeing the management of ID Comms’ accurate financial data by maintaining payables, receivables, and daily financial entries, as well as all account reconciliations for both the UK and the US. You will be responsible for providing the leadership team with current and accurate figures to ensure the business is tracking in terms of income and expenditure.

More specifically, you’ll be:

  • Preparing timely and accurate monthly management accounts via Xero and Excel
  • Maintaining records of financial transactions by establishing accounts; posting transactions and ensuring legal requirements and compliance
  • Liaising with our accountants to ensure monthly data inputted is accurate and concise
  • Responsible for posting all journals
  • Providing cash management functions by overseeing accounts payable, accounts receivable and bank reconciliation functions
  • Maintaining subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, and posting transactions
  • Balancing general ledgers by preparing a trial balance and reconciling entries
  • Maintaining historical records by filing documents in Google Drive
  • Providing administrative and clerical support as needed

  • Experience in working with senior business leaders
  • Experience using Google Apps for Business and TeamWork (or similar online collaboration programme)
  • Intermediate knowledge and use of cloud-based accounting platforms (Xero desirably)
  • Certificate level of AAT or equivalent is essential
  • Qualified to Bachelor Degree level is desirable
